Centro Cultural Taíno Casa del Cordón: A historical legacy in the heart of Santo Domingo.

The Casa del Cordón, an emblematic building from the 16th century, located in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is today the headquarters of the Centro Cultural Taíno Casa del Cordón

This unique cultural space is sponsored by Banco Popular Dominicano, reaffirming its commitment to the preservation of national heritage and the dissemination of Dominican roots and culture.

The visit to the Centro Cultural Taíno Casa del Cordón offers the opportunity to appreciate a valuable pre-Hispanic archaeological collection, donated by the García Arévalo Foundation, whose pieces make up the permanent exhibition “Our first settlers”, while allowing you to discover a colonial architectural treasure, such as the Casa del Cordón.

This new cultural center highlights the artistic and cultural legacy of the Taíno culture and develops a dynamic program of activities, designed for different audiences, through interactive exhibitions, educational experiences and cultural events.
